New and Nuno

Chrysanthemum made of bronze and copper clays.

And here's a nuno felted scarf in process. Nuno felting combines wool with another fiber in an open weave, such a silk or cotton gauze, using soap and water to bind the fibers together for incredible texture and design possibilities. I'm so excited to be pursuing something soft and warm and to give my hands a break from metal. As shiny and fascinating as it is, the sharp, cold, hardness of metal appeals to me very little in the colder months.
Coming soon, pictures of the four scarves I'm almost done making, which are headed to Flow, our Marshall gallery.
