Finally, Back Online

Now that the computer is working again I have a pile of new work to get photos of. For now here are a few little treasures I made while taking a break from the internet.

I love how the wild phlox pod turned out.

The bird and cage theme keeps flying back around my brain, complete with memories of the late friend who was my inspiration...

The earrings are from a new series I've been working on of vinelike earrings with lots of spirals and loops.

And a little family of baby poplar leaves made by painting fine silver slip on leaves, layer after layer after layer, which I could spend hours making with no complaints.

In the Barn

My new space in the barn where I've been making trellises and baskets and drying herbs. Through the slats in the floorboards I can watch the chickens and goats!
I'll have to get a picture out of the window to show the view of the ironweed and wild sunflower field.

Still Offline...

Just a quick note to explain my absence...still having computer issues which I hope to have straightened out by September at the latest!
In the meantime, I'm getting lots of new work done without the distractions of the internet.
Please check back soon for new photos.

Copper Clay Fern Cuff, round 1

This is a rough version of a cuff I'm working on~ the copper clay is a brand new material and it started to bubble and melt during firing because my kiln has no kilnsitter and therefore cannot be set to a reliable temp. However, I see lots of potential.
The final version of this cuff will be set with 5 stones. I'll be sure to post a pic when it's done.

New Earrings

Arts Camp

We're surrounded by young'uns creating all kinds of great stuff in the island studios this month...clay with Rob Pulleyn, music with Steve Davidowski, dance with Erin O'Neil, and the littlest ones are making these inspiringly playful paper mache and twig sculptures with the help of Sarah Travis...I couldn't resist sneaking next door to snap some photos.

Thursday, March 12, 2009

Just a quick update since it's been a little while since I've blogged~ I've been busy setting up shop at The Iron Horse Station Shops in Hot Springs, but there's new work on the bench and spring inspiration in the air, so I'll post new pics as soon as the pasture's done being fenced for the goats my sweetheart and I are adopting!
